It isn’t to be perfect.
It’s to enable yourself to do things.
The trigger seems very consistently to be unmet expectations, of even the most minute kind.
This goes for expectations of which I’m not always consciously aware.
Say I’m angry when someone cuts into my lane on the freeway without using their turn signal. The trigger is the expectation is that others will drive responsibly and considerately.
Another is the expectation that people will change or somehow behave differently than their history suggests.
